Inspired by Picasso

Paloma Picasso rings

In honor of the Picasso exhibit; Picasso: Masterpieces from the Musée National Picasso, Paris, currently at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, I thought I would marry my first love, art history with my current love of jewelry.  I have selected 2 pieces of jewelry that remind me of 2 of his painting styles.  Above, are some stacking rings designed by his daughter, Paloma Picasso, for Tiffanys, reminiscent of his cubism period reflected in the painting below, Woman In An Armchair.


And these fabulous blue opal earrings, by Irene Neuwirth, are of course, from the blue period, as seen below in Les Noces de Periette.
