is Pilar Olaverri. So, today I was at the pool (again) for my daughters’ swim team practice and, lucky for me, noticed that someone had left behind the June issue of Allure magazine. As I was flipping through the pages, I saw and immediately became obsessed with Pilar Olaverri’s jewelry. I love the horn necklace on the model above. It is so cool and sculptural. I love it with what she has on but it would be great with jeans and also with a low cut black dress.
Once I stopped looking at the jewelry, I read a little more about her and found out she is a well known sculptor who has teamed up with Derek Lam to produce a jewelry line.
“New York based sculptor and designer Pilar Olaverri first met Derek Lam back in 2008 while designing a commission piece for Tod’s — the now highly-recognizable wraparound leather bracelets with silver accents. The duo teamed up again for his Spring 2011 collection, with Olaverri providing amazing necklaces and bracelets made of silver, resin and leather to accent his seventies-inspired looks. “
